Three Generations of Elks.

Three Generations of Elks.

We here at GrinningElk have been blessed by an occurrence that has never happened before and may never happen again: we have been found worthy to sell a guitar to three generations of the Campbell family of Powell, Wyoming. I guess the quote, "And a child shall lead them" comes into play here as the grandson of this trio, Kyle first contacted us last year about a PRS Custom 22 for himself. He bought the guitar and we were quite proud to have him in our gang of pirates. A sale where both parties are happy is always the goal and we felt that we had hit the mark with Kyle. Little did we know what was next to come! It seems that the Grandfather, Darrell or "Papa" as he's called started to play Kyle's guitar and this in turn inspired the Father, Don to give us a call. The next thing we knew, another PRS Custom 22 was on its way to the Campbells and to be honest, we thought it was a very cool thing that a father and son team were playing guitars they had purchased from us. Now it was time for the trifecta; Earlier this year, Papa Campbell, who has been a Strat man since the 70's gave us a call on a Fender Eric Clapton "Blackie". He bought this guitar from us and Lee and I actually marveled that we had somehow gathered the Grandfather, Son and Grandson of a family into our little herd and that it was very possibly a once in a lifetime achievement. We were so elated to have these three gentlemen as members of our 'Elk Nation that I bugged Papa Campbell until he sent us a few pictures of him and his boys for our website. Not one to disappoint, he sent us these shots and Lee and I are extremely proud to present to you the men of the Campbell Family from Powell, Wyoming. Please take note of Kyle's beautifully restored, 1966 GMC pickup truck. We'll take the bet that he doesn't do doughnuts in his grandfather's backyard because there's surely a woodshed in existence nearby. The only thing that makes us a little nervous is the picture of the three guys sitting on the tailgate with an Elk skull- it could be an uncle of ours and you can bet we'll keep on the straight and narrow, especially with Papa Campbell! Kyle currently has an '07 Les Paul Custom in Silverburst on order with us and we're excited about the day we can send it to him. Lee and I want to thank these three men for trusting us enough to come back when they get that "guitar itch" and for proving that we're not really in the guitar business, we're in the relationship business.
