Spartanburg, 2009- The Singleton Theory

Lee and I have discussed many guitar dealers over the years and one of our more interesting discussions was on this gentleman, Mr. Jim Singleton of Jim's Guitars. We've come to the conclusion that he has, in the past, either hit the Maryland lottery or counterfeited about ten year's worth of Ladies Auxiliary bingo cards to get the loot he spends at these shows. In Spartanburg, we had a guitar he liked but just could not get him to pull out the foldin' money for it. He tried to trade us, he tried to borrow it for a while to see if he liked it and he even tried the old "walk into your booth with an empty case, walk out with a full one technique". Nothing worked- we wanted that cold, hard cash and so, minutes after Jim made a sale and was counting the money, we enlisted three 6' 6" South Carolina State Patrolmen to convince ol' Jim that he had an outstanding warrant for moonshining in a public playground. The first photo is the "before" and the second photo is the "after". Who says you can't get service with a smile these days?
