Item Purchased: '81 Gibson Flying V

Lee and I went down to meet a guy that said he was playing in a band that was headlining Phillips Arena tonight, 10/3/09. We brought a couple of guitars and before the show, I walked into one of the small tuning rooms in the place and this guy was standing there, holding one of the guitars we brought down. He said, "Hi, I'm James" and we started talking about guitars and the like, but in the back of my mind, I was thinking, "this must be the guitar tech for Neil Young or James Taylor or somebody like that". Wasn't sure who he was, but he was a very gentile fellow and has some killer tatoos, so we thought that surely he was involved in the rock scene in some capacity. Come to find out, this guy is the lead singer for a band called "Metallica" and they have an album or two out and have been on a couple of tours over the years. He bought this "V" from us and he and his crew treated Lee and I as though we were VIPs. All that said, we throw up a super 'Elk salute to James, Kirk, Robert and Lars for hanging out with us and letting us in on the backstage, "behind the scenes" of the Metallica machine. It's about time we got a little Heavy Metal in the 'Elk Nation and I can't think of a better man to do it for us....
