Item Purchased: '68 Reissue Masterbuilt Telecaster
There is an old Chinese Proverb that states, "To know the road ahead, ask those coming back". Powerful words of wisdom, wouldn't you say? The reason I bring this up is that often in life, we get caught up in the "latest thing", not realizing that is already been done and often better, I might add. Today, we witnessed a living example of this sentiment as we personally delivered this Telecaster to it's new owner, Mr. Wallace Reed. Wallace happily obliged our request to demo his newest acquisition and delighted us with his rendition of The Beatles "Eleanor Rigby", Fleetwood Macs "Rhiannon" and The Kings "Mystery Train". It was as if he could literally pull his influences out of thin air, like a magician pulling a rabbit out of a hat. Not only did we get to visit an old friend, but through him, we also got to visit with Chet Atkins, James Burton, George Harrison and Lindsey Buckingham. Remembering those who came before you is the prerequisite to gaining knowledge, wisdom and life. Thank you, Wallace for your purchase, friendship and inspiration. Your talent is surpassed only by your dignity and integrity. |
