** ON HOLD FOR BOB ** It's my belief that some guitars are bought strictly because they remind the buyer of a specific time, place or person. In this case, a black Strat might remind you of Clapton's "Blackie" or John Mayer's "Number 1." Sorry to be different, but the first time I saw this '56 NOS, I immediately thought of David Gilmour. In the movie "Live at Pompeii," there's a scene where he is sitting in the dirt, barefoot and playing slide on his black Strat (and don't forget the Georgia State Patrol sunglasses.) I saw the movie many years ago and that's the thing I remember most to this day. I'm pretty sure his was a vintage Strat, so in 2018 I ask myself, "What kid today would sit in the dirt, coaxing odd tones out of a guitar with no other care in the world?" The answer is not a dang one, so how that all ties to this Stratocaster is, it reminds me of the past and of what I consider a much better time in music. No iPhones, no Pokemon Go, and no interwebz. Just a band, a place, and their music. That must be the reason Gilmour is still playing in some capacity 46 years later. This instrument is in exceptional condition and has all of the case candy and COA. It's parked right in the pocket of what is the desirable price range in today's market and for under $2600.00, you can get this guitar, take your shoes off, go out in the backyard and make some really cool music. Ignore the strange looks you'll be getting from your kids- they wouldn't understand even if you explained it to them...
