Description:
I've probably handled more Fender Jazz basses in the last 18 years than I can count. Heck, my first bass was a '72 Jazz, which was the house bass in my Father's recording studio. Bought new in 1972, it was the first bass I ever picked up and I have it to this day. Did a lot of bad things with that Jazz...

So when I say that this '87 AVRI '62 reissue is hands down, one of the top 5 Jazz basses ever to pass through these doors, you can take it to the bank. I've always had a secret desire to own a real stacker, but laying out 19k for a bass that's only going to sit by my desk would be a hard thing to explain to my other half. That said, I proudly put this bass on the stand next to me and have been caught several times playing it instead of working, but we're only talking about a $2500.00 bass (that I thoroughly enjoy playing,) so when I got caught, I threw caution to the wind and gave the wife my famous and daring "stink eye stare." And, I kept playing...

This Jazz weighs 9 lbs, 3 oz and has a neck that's as fast and slippery as a greased eel. The neck profile is very near a Geddy Lee Jazz neck, so it's on the thinner side and exceptionally easy to play. The Olympic White color has very sweetly turned into a mellow cream, which only adds to its allure. Now I'm talking specifically to the Jazz bass players out there, so I know you'll all immediately get what I'm saying. In short boys, this stacker is a complete winner in all aspects and while I can't keep them all, I can surely want to keep this one! Give me a shout with any questions or requests!
