Tired of playing that plain, blonde '73 Tele that you inherited from your uncle Glen? Your back giving you fits after only two sets in the club? Then step right up gentlemen because I have the solution to your problem and the new toy of your dreams.
This Custom FMT (Flame Maple Top) Tele is the latest and greatest version of what a Telecaster should be. Clocking in at a fantastic 7 lbs, 1 oz, your back will immediately thank you for easing its burden. As to it's appearance, the first thing out of my mouth when we got this guitar was, "Looks like a Les Paul to me," and it does. The sides of the lightweight Ash body have the look of Mahogany and as to the beautifully flamed, AAA maple top, there's a million Les Pauls with exactly that. Looks like Fender sent a spy into the Gibson factory to get a view of what's going on in there...
The tone is sparkling and modern- the twin hand-wired Twisted Tele pickups are snappy and responsive and the Greasebucket tone circuit gives you exact control. This one's got a fat neck and a 9.5" fretboard radius, so you can bend notes in that solo 'til the sun goes down. Pearl-tipped tuners and chrome hardware round out what we think is a stunning package and the guitar comes in its original case with every bit of case candy you could ever want.
Simply put, it's our favorite new Tele acquisition and if we had a Hall of Fame for guitars, this one would go in on the first ballot. There is nothing not to like about this guitar and it's a gorgeous example of what the folks down in the Custom Shop can produce when they put their minds to it. Heck, with all the goings on at Gibson, who knows- maybe we'll be seeing a Les Paulocaster in the near future. Or a Les Telepaul. At this point, nothing would surprize me- feel free to give us a shout with any questions or requests!
