Description:
As one of the most compelling and collectible Les Pauls of Gibson's line, this 40th Anniversary R9 sets the bar in terms of what a "collectible" guitar should be. Although at any given time, there may be several of these guitars on the market, this particular package stands out as the premier example of the run. Here's why...

First, the guitar and package as a whole is the most complete to be had. It contains the instrument, both hardshell cases, the original "Beauty of the Burst" book, every tag and piece of case candy that could possibly be offered in 1999, a print out of the features from Gibson and the May, 2000 catalog from Guitar Galleria depicting the guitar being for sale as new. Now that's a collector's package of there ever was one!

This Les Paul is a one-owner guitar and with us merely being temporary gatekeepers, whomever purchases it will officially be the second owner. It weighs 8 lbs, 7 oz and per the seller, it has been played only two or three times in the last 19 years. Even the original strings are still on the guitar as from the factory. It was purchased new in 2000 to be part of a private collection and there it has sat until we were recently were able to acquire it. It looks virtually as new and the cases still have that "new car/guitar" smell. We gave it extra "coolness points" for that alone.

Folks, there are collectible guitars and then there are collectible packages- if you are looking to add to a discriminating collection and seek only the best, then here it is. We encourage you to ask questions, make inquiries and as we've said many times before; 'Elk operators are always standing by...
