Hello friends! You know what this is, but just maybe you don’t know the history. This guitar came to me via the original owner in Knoxville some 10 years ago. You see, the elderly gentleman with blue eyes and a firm hand shake told of his childhood band back in the day.
Of course, his band, after some time broke up and the gentleman (with the firm handshake) told me of the 9 to 5 that replaced his dream of rock stardom. He, like most of us had to get into reality and his reality was being a peace officer.
Now with that being said, you can see this guitar was played. Some people think the vibration of the strings gives a guitar soul and I’d have to agree. This guitar has more soul than James Brown on the “Sex Machine” tour. That legendary 50’s round “C” neck is the story here. The tone is assured by the well balanced P-90’s she’s been blessed with. This guitar weights in at 9 lbs 8 oz and has plenty of room for the wraparound to be adjusted, no matter the preference.
This Les Paul has had a re-fret some years ago and I suppose that is because she was played. If you’re looking for a closet queen, then this is not your girl, but if you’re looking for a guitar with outstanding tone and an interesting story, then this is absolutely your girl.
What Gibson can’t reproduce is time. Yep, you can age it and you can beat it, but those thousands of hours of playing time are what is required to instill the soul into a guitar and that cannot be replicated. As always, give me a call, an email or what have you. I’ll be here as usual. That’s what I do.
